ABIDE (V.):
To dwell with intention, to remain rooted in presence and purpose. To abide is to create space — within ourselves and in the world — where peace, beauty, and belonging take hold. It is both the quiet strength of staying and the grace of nurturing; a way of living that honors connection, steadiness, and the sacred act of making this life feel like home.
A NOTE FROM OUR OWNER:

After several years working in human services, mental health, substance use care, and the aging industry, I enter into this endeavor with a background rich in advocacy. What I encountered upon entering the human services field was humbling. Almost immediately, I witnessed families struggling to navigate a complex and often contradictory system—one where vital questions like “How do I qualify for Medicaid?” or “How do I keep my loved one safe?” were met with confusion, grief, and exhaustion.

These questions were rarely logistical alone—they came from older adults, children, spouses, and caregivers who were often in the midst of profound crises.

I genuinely recognize the significance of working to find yourself or your loved one the comprehensive support they need. It's incredibly hard to know where to turn when faced with these complex situations, but Abide Resources is here to provide trustworthy help. My understanding of these mental health, substance abuse, and the aging industry is deeply personal. I have taken care of various family members through addiction, illnesses, injuries, and end-of-life care, giving me firsthand insight into the emotional and practical demands you may be facing.

Through these experiences, both personally and professionally, I have considered it one of life's greatest privileges to watch families find moments of peace, connection, and dignity amidst uncertainty. I have watched healing in the bonds between generations, in the advocacy to improve systems, and in quiet moments where hope unexpectedly made itself known.

One such moment came during a hospital visit with a family. A client I was working with laid resting with their child sitting beside them, balancing deep care for their parent with the demands of their own life. I offered guidance, talked through care options, and shared resources. As I turned to leave, the client—silent and sleeping until then—opened their eyes and simply said, “Keep hope alive.”

That phrase became a touchstone for my career. It captured everything that inspired me to start Abide Resources—an organization grounded in the belief that even in the midst of grief, complexity, and change, there is always room for hope. Abide exists to walk with families through the caregiving journey, providing clarity, care, and compassion. It is a space where "getting better" is redefined—not by curative measures alone, but by connection, dignity, and the fierce, tender work of learning to live well--of learning to abide.

With great sincerity, I consider it one of my greatest privileges to walk with you in this journey.

With Kindness and Care,

How does this process work? After receiving a referral, Abide Resources will reach out to the primary contact to learn more about the unique medical, social, emotional, cultural, and financial needs of the client. This initial conversation is brief and complimentary, serving to help both Abide and our clients ensure that our services can meet their needs. If a client would like to utilize Abide's services, our intake process involves a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, usually in person at the home, a medical facility, or at our office. During this assessment, we work to understand exactly what it is that individuals need and to provide education on the available options for care. If families should discern the route of care that they would like to pursue, Abide will work from here to coordinate the various resources and ensure a smooth transition into the needed care options. No matter what it is that you decide, Abide is right here with you to help you navigate this difficult season.
